Our Story

Glass Plaque SA

A company started late 2020 and still going strong. Although we’ve had a bumpy road so far, we believe we’re well on our way to successful. It started as an idea by the founder, who then decided to get a partner.

Our first order came from the late Killer Kau’s Girlfriend, she ordered one as a present and trusted us even though we had no reputation and until today we appreciate her. We send our condolences to the her, his family and South Africa as a whole, we lost someone special to us.

Business went well after the first order until we made a plaque of the hottest amapiano song at the time, which was “Umsebenzi Wethu” By Busta 929, Mpura, Zuma, Mr JazziQ, Lady Du & Reece Madlisa. This caught the attention of South Africans and boosted our social media following. The late “Mpura Mpura” even hit us up, letting us know how much he loves it and he’d love to get one. We made one for him and even got to do a hand over, Rest in Peace to him.

Just when we thought we were doing great, things got better when Musa Keys, TallArseTee & Malumnator contacted us for plaques as well. We had them made and got to meet the amazing artists to hand over their plaques. Business was doing well for that first year and you can imagine how our social media presence grew from this point on.

New year, 2022 we were ready to have a beautiful year. Valentines Day was approaching and we were accepting an influx of orders, the most we’ve ever received in a month. We were starting the year off on a good note.

Things took a turn when our printers machine broke and we unable to complete all these orders before the big day which was Valentines day. We had to refund customers and take a 2 – 3 months production break while we try to solve this printing issue.

This affected our reputation and our reliability. When we were finally able to start production again, we couldn’t go back to the same quality we had and this meant we had a lot of unhappy clients including the ones we hadn’t refunded yet. The business was running on a loss for a full year as all the proceeds went to keeping the business alive and refunding clients.

As business partners we had a fall out which resulted in a, not so friendly separation. This meant all operations and responsibilities fell onto one person, the rebuilding and refunding.

2023 we’re still in business, we’ve drastically improved the quality of the product and still continue to refund clients. I know, you’re probably thinking how are we still refunding clients a year later. The financial affects were huge!

Our focus right now is improving our service and turn around time. We’ll do this by turning the one man show into a team to increase the productivity levels. We’ve already started and we hope to continue regaining the trust of our clients.
